About Wakali Labs

We're a team of tech enthusiasts dedicated to connecting and empowering communities through innovative solutions – from high‑speed internet to custom software.

Our story

Wakali Labs started back in 2019 with a simple observation: too many communities in Taita Taveta lacked reliable internet and access to modern tech services. We believed that technology should be a bridge, not a barrier.

What began as a small cyber cafe shop in Voi Town – along Distar Hostel street – and another in Eldoret, serving the community one customer at a time, slowly grew into something bigger. We offered CCTV installation services to homes, offices, shops, and schools, helping people feel safer and more secure. Our goal then, as it is now, was simple: to make sure everyone can enjoy the best of what technology has to offer.

We listened to people's struggles: a student who couldn't submit an assignment, a business owner losing sales due to poor connectivity, a church that wanted to keep better records. And we realised we could do more.

Today, we run fibre lines through Rukanga, provide IT support to businesses across the region, and build custom software for churches, schools, and retailers. Our name – Wakali – reflects our roots and our commitment to serving our community with excellence.

We're still based at the foot of Kasigau Hill, but our impact now stretches far beyond. Every connection we install, every system we deploy, is a step toward a more digitally inclusive Kenya – a promise we made in that small cyber cafe back in 2019 and carry with us every day.

Our Philosophy

"Technology can change everything."

At Wakali Labs, we believe technology is more than devices, code, or networks—it is a tool that can transform lives, grow businesses, and connect communities. The right technology can turn simple ideas into powerful solutions and open doors to opportunities that once seemed impossible.

Progress does not happen overnight. It is built through curiosity, dedication, and the courage to keep innovating even when the path is uncertain. Every challenge we face is another chance to learn, create, and move forward.

We may not have all the answers, but we are committed to solving real problems with practical, reliable solutions.

With every system we build, every device we restore, and every connection we create, we move one step closer to a smarter, more connected future for everyone.
